Age 16-21? Nope.
5’9″ – 6″ tall? Lol!
22″ – 26″ waist? In college.
36″ bust? When I was pregnant…
92 lbs? Not even close.
So, have you ever thought of yourself as being in the running to become America’s Next Top Model? You can see I don’t make the mark. But, guess what? We are. Our children watch the behaviors we “model” every day.
When we speak lovingly to our spouse and care for him, we “model” RESPECT.
When we discipline our children, we “model” LOVE.
When we do chores around the house, we “model” RESPONSIBILITY.
When we exercise and eat healthy foods (more often than we eat junk foods), we “model” DISCIPLINE.
When we get up in the middle of the night to comfort a frightened child or take care of a sick one, we “model” SACRIFICE.

Are you in the running to become America’s Next Top Model?
On the other hand…
When we snap out our spouse or children after a long day of work, we “model” DISRESPECT.
When we allow our children to act out and behave any kind of way because we want them to like us, we “model” INDIFFERENCE.
When we don’t take care of our homes, we “model” LAZINESS. [I am not suggesting that your home should look like a spread straight out of Better Homes and Gardens every day. I have dishes in the sink right now and laundry to be folded.]

When we don’t take care of ourselves (mind, body and soul), we “model” a LACK OF DISCIPLINE.
When we run around like chickens with our heads cut off with too much on our plates while trying to be everything to everybody, we “model” DISORDER, DISARRAY & CRAZINESS. [Can you tell I’ve been there?]
Remember, we are always “modeling” something to our children because they are ALWAYS watching. What are you “modeling”?
Until next time-
In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:16 NIV)
