Update: Hubby cooked the all natural, Nature’s Place whole chicken that I purchased last week from Food Lion for less than $5. It was fall-off-the-bone delicious AND lasted for 2 dinner meals. I would say that’s a bargain.
For this week’s Spend Less Challenge, I was able to save during a last minute, midweek grocery run to get some school lunch items for Junior and Kid Flash. Ever since the boys were able to drink their own juice box I have purchased Honest Kids Organic Juice Drink juice pouches. I like them because they (1) are organic, (2) contain NO high fructose corn syrup and (3) have 1/2 the sugar of other leading kids’ juice brands.
This week they were on sale at Food Lion for only $2.99/box of 8. So, I purchased 2 boxes.
I also needed to get a snack for the boys’ lunches. I chose chips because I can usually find plain chips that are not highly processed.
This week I chose Cape Cod because (1) they were on sale for $2.99 and (2) there are only 3 ingredients and I can pronounce them all.
I am pretty pleased with my ability to “Spend Less” this week. Check out Week 1 of the “Spend Less Challenge” to see how last week’s savings compare with this week.
How did you spend less this week?
Until next time-
On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with your income, saving it up, so that when I come no collections will have to be made. (1 Corinthians 16:2 NIV)
