A Mother’s Love

What mother wouldn’t move heaven and earth for her child(ren)? Or go to the ends of the earth and back? The love begins when you first find out that you’re carrying a precious life. You start to eat better, treat your body better, take more careful steps, read to him/her, play classical music via earphones on your belly, speak loving words to your growing belly and the list goes on. You’ve even heard of those miraculous stories where a mother has picked up a car or fought off a wild animal to save a child. But, what about the daily acts of love that mothers show everyday. Do any of these scenarios ring a bell?

Waking up at the crack of dawn to fix a hot breakfast before school

Staying up all night with a sick child

Cleaning up puke from that sick child when you want to puke yourself

Running all over town to find that special gift that he/she asked for his/her birthday

Leaving work and missing an important meeting to pick up a sick child from school

Coming home after a long, hard day at work to homework that needs to be completed and dinner that needs to be cooked

Playing 17 hands of Go Fish with your child who is “bored” and wants to play with Mommy when all you want to do is take a nap

I could go on and on, but you get the point. What daily acts of love do you share with your child(ren)?

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Until next time…

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.” (I Corinthians 13:4-7 NIV)

God’s best-
