Help! I Think I am a Soccer Mom…

As I sit here at soccer practice with my two youngest boys it dawns on me that I might be a soccer mom.  Before I had kids I swore I would NOT be “that” mom: the mom who ran all over town shuttling her children to/from endless activities and practices.  So, how did I get here?   Heck if I know!  Here are three signs that you are officially a “soccer mom:”working mom

1.  Your child plays soccer.  Duh!  So, you wonder how I missed that, right?  To me, the “soccer mom” was always an illusion, a moniker, if you will.  It wasn’t a real mom whose children played soccer.  It was “that” mom who was constantly on the go with children who were very involved in extracurricular activities.

2.  Your only friends are other “soccer moms”.  Be careful of this one.  You only keep company with other moms whose children play soccer.  If this has become your life, you need to get out more.  Maybe, there’s hope for me yet.  I only associate with the other moms (whose sons play soccer with my son) on Game Day.

3.  You have a soccer decal on your Minivan.  Okay, I’m off the hook.  #1 – I don’t have a Minivan.  #2 – No soccer decal (yet) on the back of my “whip” (that’s a nice vehicle, for those non-hip hoppers out there).

Whoo, that was close!  For a minute there I thought I had become a “soccer mom”.  But, it’s probably only a matter of time…

Until next time…

“Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.”  (Proverbs 22:6)

God’s best-

Alexis
